Reuters seeks an M&A correspondent

Reuters is seeking an ambitious and entrepreneurial reporter to join its deals team in New York. The successful candidate will consistently break market-moving news on major deals involving the biggest companies in corporate America and collaborate with other deals reporters across the world to go deep into some of the sectors that have witnessed high-profile mergers and initial public offerings.

The job requires a deep understanding of how corporate executives and dealmakers operate, strong source-building and networking skills, and a dedication to being first and setting the news agenda. The successful candidate will work closely with a fast-paced team of deal reporters who consistently produce big scoops on corporate dealmaking and shareholder activism.

The role also calls for leading and contributing to insightful and high-impact stories alongside finance and company news reporters, taking readers inside boardrooms and shedding new light on the key decision-makers.

About the Role

As a M&A Correspondent (Level 1 Journalist), you will:

  • Consistently break news on market-moving M&A deals and IPOs in corporate America and collaborate with other deals reporters across the world
  • Contribute to insightful and high-impact stories alongside finance and companies’ reporters
  • Take readers inside boardrooms and shed new light on the key decision-makers
  • Have a deep understanding of how corporate executives and dealmakers operate
  • Possess exceptional source-building and networking skills
  • Be dedicated to being first and setting the news agenda

About You

You’re a fit for the role of M&A Correspondent (Level 1 Journalist) if you likely have:

  • At least 3 years’ experience of companies-related reporting
  • A strong track record of scoops
  • M&A reporting experience preferred but not a must
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
