Reuters seeks an Argentina correspondent

Reuters is seeking an energetic and experienced journalist to join our team in Buenos Aires as Correspondent, to help drive initiative coverage of key themes from libertarian President Javier Milei’s efforts to restructure the economy to the evolution of booming business areas including grains, shale oil and gas, and electric battery metal lithium, that are of keen interest to our clients.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who will work with colleagues in Buenos Aires and beyond to develop ambitious, deeply-reported stories getting under the skin of South America’s second largest economy, which is grappling with triple-digit inflation, tough capital controls, rising poverty and the looming threat of recession. The country is one of the world’s top food producers with soy, corn, wheat and beef, has major lithium reserves, is the IMF’s largest single debtor and has a huge and creaking bond market, making it of key importance to investors, policy makers, companies and traders.
