Join our team on the news editing desk, which involves editing and packaging under the supervision of more senior editors, gradually moving to more independent work with greater responsibility and more opportunities to help bureau to make news editing decisions.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Desk Editor, you will:
- Ensures news is quickly edited to a high standard of accuracy, balance, style, objectivity, and reliable sourcing.
- Works as part of a team with other sub-editors to ensure content moves quickly to clients.
- Revises and packages content per product requirements (e.g. Top News, glances, wraps, photo montages, etc.).
- Alerts bureau on beats picked up by competitors.
- Revises and packages content per product requirements (e.g. Top News, glances, wraps, photo montages, online communities, reuters.com, agency).
- For local language services adapts, translates, and codes international service stories per local client requirements.
- Edits graphics to illustrate text stories.
About You:
You’re a fit for the role if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Fluent English is a must.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience doing the same activities.
- Previous experiences working in a breaking news environment.
