We are looking for a Senior Staff Writer who will write breaking news stories on press releases, company announcements, and other public documents—with a strong emphasis on speed, accuracy, and clarity. This person will also monitor the day-to-day workflow of the Staff Writer team and work closely with the Senior Director, Global Editorial Operations. A background in writing about leveraged loans, bankruptcy, and high yield/restructuring is required.

They must be an excellent communicator, can learn and adapt to Reorg standards and processes quickly, and confidently push those standards/processes across the Editorial team. They must be able to work across different teams and regions as well as independently to ensure Reorg’s content is held to its editorial standards. They will work West Coast hours of 10am-7pm or East Coast hours of 1-10pm.

This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills by overseeing the daily workflow, training, and upskilling of Americas Staff Writers. It’s an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic New York-headquartered global organization, working with experienced financial journalists, analysts, and lawyers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor domestic press and feeds for key and topical developments, as well as wider industries and economies, to inform and broaden storytelling.
  • Implement and oversee best practices in aggregating third-party content and contributions to Reorg’s Credit Cloud tool.
  • Support experienced journalists, financial analysts, and lawyers in producing their articles.
  • Oversee daily workflow, training, and upskilling of Americas Staff Writers to ensure they meet team goals and KPIs.
  • Work with the Editorial Operations on iteration of features, AI tools, and other products. This means being able to quickly spot gaps and opportunities for improvements and confidently voice those ideas.
  • Gain deep knowledge of Reorg’s editorial standards, workflows, and processes, and be able to train others effectively.
  • Provide crossover support between regions when necessary in order to achieve 24/7 coverage.
  • Be all in on Reorg’s AI roadmap by writing earnings and other intel using our proprietary AI tool.
  • Quickly problem-solve when issues arise around daily workflow; be able to ask questions and triage.

Requirements

  • Top-notch news writing, news judgment, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of leveraged loans, bankruptcy and high yield/restructurings.
  • Background in covering financial news and markets.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and track progress for team members within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly explain Reorg standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Able to work West Coast hours of 10am-7pm or East Coast hours of 1-10pm. This is key to a successful handover/overlap for 24/7 global coverage.
  • Change mindset and experience in helping to create a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience (or willingness to develop) coaching and mentoring to guide team members, as well as coordinate relevant training as needed.
  • You may be required to cover shift work during the week, occasionally working earlier mornings or additional hours (with notice) to ensure we break news before our competitors.
