Morning Consult is hiring a reporter to lead its Entertainment vertical, which covers the business of Hollywood and the future of media consumption.
We’re looking for an energetic, plugged-in and versatile reporter who has a deep understanding of the business forces behind popular film, TV and streaming content and is intensely curious about how those forces are evolving. Candidates should feel comfortable reporting on everything from Netflix’s next act as an entertainment giant, to the attempted innovation of the theatrical experience, to gaming’s takeover of young consumers’ leisure time. In addition to writing stories, the Business of Entertainment reporter will be responsible for crafting a daily email newsletter that is delivered to thousands of subscribers, expertly curating industry news, data and commentary while adding their own insights and analysis.
The ideal candidate will be able to balance writing timely news hits with forward-looking features and interviews. We’re looking for a self-starter who thrives on being the first to report on significant entertainment trends and developments and has exclusive insights to offer our readers, many of whom are entertainment executives and other industry professionals looking to better understand the landscape in which they operate.
