Las Vegas Sun seeks a business and gaming reporter

The Las Vegas Sun and Greenspun Media Group are seeking a Business and Gaming Reporter to cover developments on the Las Vegas Strip, gaming, local government, transportation and more.

We’re seeking an experienced, energetic, and inquisitive reporter for the job, which comes with an opportunity to quickly become one of the most widely followed journalists in our market. If something significant happens in Las Vegas, you’ll report on it. This is a vibrant time in Southern Nevada. Tourism is booming, new development is planned at many Strip properties and the city is preparing to host the Super Bowl and a Formula One race.

Our successful candidate will have at least two years of experience covering business or news in a midsized city or large metro, and the ability to produce content ranging from quick turnarounds on breaking news stories to long-form narratives.

In addition, the candidate will have excellent writing skills, a competitive nature, a collaborative personality, be able to self-direct and get the story even when primary sources aren’t available to assist.

The Las Vegas Sun is a product of Greenspun Media Group, a family-owned company that prides itself on operating collaboratively and collegially across all parts of our organization.

Our publications include Las Vegas Weekly; a group of leading websites, including award-winning LasVegasSun.com and VegasInc.com, the valley’s leading business publication; and Las Vegas Magazine, which is distributed in most of the hotel rooms on the Las Vegas Strip. We’re building a media company for the next 50 years, and we take pride in the quality and progressive nature of our work. The Las Vegas Sun won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2009, and GMG’s sites have won EPPY Awards in four of the past five years.

We only hire the best of the best because we offer the best! Greenspun Media Group offers competitive pay and a benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, 401K, and a generous PTO (paid time off) plan.

Interested in applying? If so, please send your résumé and clips to jobs@ gmgvegas.com with the subject line ‘BUSINESS AND GAMING REPORTER’ Tell us how you would cover the city.
