FT seeks a hedge fund correspondent in London

February 24, 2023

Posted by Chris Roush

The Financial Times has an exciting new opportunity for covering hedge funds in London.

This is a beat that involves getting under the skin of some of the most fascinating and secretive characters and companies in global markets, and figuring out who is making (or losing) millions.

Based in London, the Hedge Fund Correspondent should also team up regularly with colleagues in New York and around the world to dig into global stories, as we have done so successfully on Archegos, for example.

We are looking for stories on what drives these people, how they interact with policymakers, and whether big investors still believe they can deliver the goods.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an energetic and resourceful candidate and a proven all-rounder who is keen to make their mark reporting on this dynamic part of the investment management world.

The ideal candidate will be able to write-up breaking news quickly, and will also be hungry to develop sources, generate splash-worthy scoops and craft insightful news-in-depth pieces. They must be confident in gathering off-diary news leads and spotting trends, and able to turn the intricacies of the global hedge fund industry into stories that bring it alive and grab the non-specialist reader.

Please submit your application by the end of the day, 9th March 2023.
