The Business Journal is searching for a real estate reporter to join its award-winning newsroom.
In this role, you will develop into the preeminent source for residential and commercial real estate news in Fresno, Kings, Madera and Tulare counties in the heart of fast-developing Central California. You’ll build relationships with key stakeholders including developers, property owners, investors, community groups, economic development experts and elected officials. The result will be stories about 8-figure real estate deals, new warehouse and fulfillment centers, office buildings, million-dollar homes, affordable housing, social equity and more. These are the type of high-visibility stories that reach far beyond our influential, business-to-business audience.
Whether you are a seasoned veteran in journalism or just starting out, we seek applicants who are excited about writing stories no one else can and shaping the local news cycle. Candidates should be comfortable shooting video, taking photos and contributing to our social media channels. The Business Journal has a supportive, close-knit team that takes pride in being a five-generation family media business. We offer competitive paid time off, a health benefits plan and opportunities for performance-based pay raises after 90 days.
To apply, include a cover letter, resume and samples of your best work in an email with the subject line “Real Estate Reporter” to editor@thebusinessjournal.com.
