  • Helping the senior editor shape the direction and coverage of the Work Life vertical.
  • Managing a high volume of story pitches daily and developing those that are the best fit for the section.
  • Ensuring that all our content is factually accurate and has a high degree of editorial integrity.
  • Write weekly for the Work Life section.
  • Occasionally pitching in across other verticals on fastcompany.com, and helping with larger editorial projects and research, as needed.

Qualifications

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years’ experience assigning and editing stories for a daily online publication.
  • Strong editing, writing, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Work Life-related topics like leadership, career development, productivity, workplace culture, and diversity and equity effort.
  • Knowledge about Fast Company, the types of companies, topics, and industries we cover, and the ability to communicate with executives and leaders within those industries.
  • Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and desire to work autonomously.
  • An ability to juggle multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • An established social-media presence and savviness with promoting content on social media, especially LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Experience with WordPress and good SEO practices.
