Dow Jones is seeking a platform editor to join the team behind WSJ+, a premium digital product offering personalized news and analysis from four prestigious titles: The Wall Street Journal , Barron’s , MarketWatch and Investor’s Business Daily .

WSJ+ is an innovative subscription service designed for business-minded audiences who want personalized content that helps them make smarter decisions about their money, investments, and financial futures. As a WSJ+ editor, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the user experience by ensuring content is meeting the subscribers’ needs.

At Dow Jones, you’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking company at the heart of the financial world. We offer a collaborative, inclusive work environment where you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of premium digital content and personalization for millions of subscribers worldwide.

This role is based in New York/London and will report into the Chief Newswire Editor.

You will:

  • Implement content strategy: Help develop the content offering on WSJ+ with two main goals–engaging bundle subscribers more deeply through personalization and building cross-brand discovery.
  • Optimize product experience: Monitor the WSJ+ product ecosystem daily to ensure a seamless dynamic product experience and address time-sensitive or contextual gaps as they arise.
  • Maintain metadata accuracy: Ensure metadata is properly managed in the content management system, reflecting the content accurately and consistently.
  • Uphold editorial integrity: Maintain the high standards of Dow Jones, ensuring all content adheres to our editorial ethics and brand voice.

You have:

  • Experience: at least one year of experience in a digital newsroom, with a background in editing, writing, production and product development. Familiarity with the intersection of editorial and tech is a plus.
  • Financial acumen: Strong understanding of financial markets, corporate developments, and economic trends. Prior reporting experience is a plus.
  • Subscriber-focused: Experience working for a subscriber-driven product or service, especially one aimed at delivering premium content and personalized user experiences.
  • Judgment and initiative: Excellent news judgment and the ability to balance urgent needs with long-term objectives. You should be proactive in spotting challenges and opportunities.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex environment where ambiguity and change are constant.
  • Communication skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively across teams.
