Dow Jones Newswires seeks a reporter to cover European Union antitrust and competition policy and announcements from Brussels.
In this crucial beat, the reporter will cover breaking news in real time, serving Dow Jones Newswires’ global professional readership. The role comes amid an ongoing EU crackdown on the reach of Big Tech; the imposition of tariffs on Chinese electric-vehicle makers, and as the bloc grapples with how to regulate Artificial Intelligence.
The reporter would also be expected to cover scrutiny of major mergers and acquisitions by the European Commission, the EU’s competition watchdog, and the development of policies affecting a whole range of industries.
Based in Brussels, the reporter will work closely with Newswires editors and staff across the region and coordinate closely with colleagues at the Wall Street Journal to ensure breaking news is covered quickly and accurately.
Excellent news judgment and a close eye for detail are essential. Successful candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication skills will be hugely important.

You will:

You have:
- A minimum two-years experience working in news
- A well-honed sense of urgency along with a capacity to remain calm under pressure.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and time while handling multiple responsibilities.
