Detroit News seeks an autos reporter

December 30, 2024

Posted by Chris Roush

The Detroit News seeks an enterprising reporter to join its award-winning business and autos team.

The job is based in our Detroit newsroom.

The ideal candidate would be a self-starting beat reporter hungry for both regional and national competition. You’ll join our team of Detroit-based auto writers, an auto critic, business reporters and a business columnist to cover the auto industry as it adapts to a fast-changing automotive landscape.

The successful candidate would primarily be assigned to one of Detroit’s three automakers but would be expected to source across the companies, the United Auto Workers, industry analysts and affected communities. In addition, you’d assist in covering issues that impact Detroit and Michigan.

Successful candidates are enterprise-driven and adept at social media and computer-assisted reporting. Comfort working collaboratively is strongly desired.
