Crunchbase seeks a projects editor

The Crunchbase News team is an editorially independent newsroom within Crunchbase that reports on private companies, venture capital and startups for a growing audience of entrepreneurs, executives, investors, market researchers and salespeople. All of our journalism is informed by Crunchbase’s world-class data and our own original reporting.

What You’ll Do

    • Work with reporters and others editors to help lead and develop Crunchbase News editorial and data projects around high-profile reporting beats
    • Edit stories, assist in compiling and editing our daily newsletter, and guide our editorial priorities
    • Work closely with the Editor in Chief to develop and maintain the editorial calendar
    • Help the news team hit traffic and other growth targets
    • Occasionally pitch in on writing and reporting as needed

What We’re Looking For

    • A candidate with strong, proven organizational skills who can reliably plan and execute longer-term editorial projects on deadline
    • A journalist with experience as both an editor and writer in a fast-paced newsroom
    • Someone who enjoys working closely with other reporters and editors on story development and assignments and help ensure accuracy in our reporting and data while polishing our prose
    • Prior experience covering finance, venture capital, tech or startups is not required, but the right candidate will have a keen curiosity about learning more about the subjects we cover
    • Experience working cross-functionally with members of other teams (i.e., Social Media, Marketing or Product) is preferred
    • Experience working with modern workplace and publishing tools such as Slack, Zoom, Google Suite and WordPress is preferred
