Bloomberg is seeking a journalist to join its North American Transport team and dominate coverage of dedicated electric vehicle companies as the automotive industry grapples with its transition to a zero-emission future. This role is for an ambitious reporter with source-development and writing chops who’s looking to make their mark by breaking news about financing plans, personnel changes and technology innovations.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to find and deliver scoops on a key playing in the EV space — from giants such as Tesla Inc. to fast-growing start ups like Rivian Automotive Inc. and Lucid Group Inc.
YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
- A minimum of 5-10 years of recent reporting experience
- Working knowledge of financial markets and corporate balance sheets or eagerness to learn
- Willingness to experiment with different forms of story telling including videos, podcasts and data visualization
- Strong work ethic, ability to work steadily and calmly under pressure
- Robust attention to detail
- Ability to do shoe leather reporting outside the office and travel for work occasionally
- A collaborative team spirit and the drive to innovate and experiment
