Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.

Technology is changing the world. We’re seeking an aggressive, creative editor who can work with reporters to break the biggest scoops and tell the most important stories about how technology is transforming business, society and culture across the region.

You’re an experienced editor who thinks outside the box, comes up with original ideas and can work with reporters and other editors to establish Bloomberg as the most important source for technology news. You’ll play a key role in helping team leaders manage more than a dozen reporters from Japan and South Korea to China, Singapore and India, covering AI leaders, internet companies, smartphone makers, chip providers, startups and venture capital firms. Your responsibilities will include generating and shaping ideas, editing copy, coaching and mentoring reporters and interacting with journalists across the organization. You’re passionate about some of the biggest technology trends shaping our generation (and those to come), including the way AI will transform the planet, the fallout from the US-Chinese geopolitical conflict, and the impact of technology on the electronics supply chains, businesses, markets, industries and lifestyles. Knowledge of the technology industry and company financials is essential. An understanding of economies and financial markets is a plus.

The ideal candidate comes with a proven track record of writing breaking news, handling complex developments and ushering out global headlines in real-time, juggling both context and analytical depth with the imperative to inform readers as fast as possible.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Help reporters develop feature stories about the companies and culture of Asia technology
  • Guide reporters to break news and uncover exclusive information on their beats
  • Collaborate with other editors on the technology team and beyond to expand our impact
  • Maintain composure under intense deadline pressure
  • Be committed to the best journalistic practices, sound judgment and a willingness to learn

You’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of three years of business editing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • An interest in Asia, technology and how the region is evolving
  • Proven success in generating story ideas and producing outstanding copy
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching reporters
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
