Bloomberg seeks a Texas reporter in Dallas

Bloomberg is looking for a tenacious and versatile reporter to cover business, finance and the interrelationship with politics in Texas. We are looking for an ambitious journalist who can navigate the state’s diverse corporate scene — whether it’s the expansion of Goldman Sachs in Dallas, Houston’s massive energy hub or Austin’s thriving tech scene.

In this role, you’ll be expected to break news and write compelling features about Texas’s most prominent business leaders, its wealthy families and key institutions. You’ll relish scrutinizing the relationship between money, power and politics and how it’s shaping ideologies and laws both within the state and nationwide.

You’ll have the opportunity to cover critical issues that are shaping the country ahead of the 2024 presidential elections, including immigration, social issues and education.

WE’LL TRUST YOU TO:

  • Break news and write in-depth stories that connect Texas developments to national trends
  • Cultivate and maintain a wide network of sources
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the newsroom
  • Produce high-quality content across all of Bloomberg’s platforms

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience in business and finance journalism
  • A track record of breaking news and meeting tight deadlines
  • A strong grasp of the state’s finance, wealth, economy and political scenes
  • Extensive knowledge of Texas with a willingness to further deepen your understanding

Apply if you think we’re a good match. We’ll get in touch to let you know what the next steps are.
