Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from intraday coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.

The Asia hub, a group of senior editors who helm major breaking news and feature stories across all our platforms, is looking for a new team member in southern Asia. The ideal candidate is collaborative and inspiring: someone who writers want to work with, and managers trust to deliver.

This is a varied and exciting senior editing role. You’ll be expected to shape and elevate some of our most important features as well as jumping in to edit quick-turn news. We’ll also rely on you to coach newer reporters and editors in key aspects of the enterprise process, from pitching to story structure to making writing shine. You will also be expected to work with our video and audio teams as we expand our stable of podcasts and documentaries.

The region is home to some of the world’s most interesting stories from family succession dramas to trade wars and vast scamming empires. We’ll rely on you to stay abreast of developments across a wide ranging of topic areas and countries, from India to Vietnam and the Philippines, and find fresh ways to chronicle capitalism.

We’ll trust you to:
Forge relationships with reporters, editors and managers across Bloomberg News’ extensive Asia operations
Brainstorm ambitious enterprise story ideas, develop them with writers and managers, and edit and steer the stories through to publication
React quickly to unexpected stories and help break news
Contribute to a range of platforms and formats, including audio, video, newsletters, live blogs, magazines and social
Mentor and coach up-and-coming reporters and editors

You’ll need to have:
At least 7 years of recent experience in business journalism
Experience working in a real-time news environment
At least 5 years of experience editing business, economy, markets or technology stories
Curiosity, inventiveness, a love of good writing and a can-do, collaborative, attitude
Fluency in both spoken and written English
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to work steadily and calmly under pressure
Bachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
