Bloomberg’s Middle East News team is fast and innovative, and our mission is to deliver news to readers as quickly as possible, enabling our audience to stay fully informed when making decisions. We are seeking a reporter with strong news judgment and a deep knowledge of Middle East economies and companies to work in our Riyadh office. You will cover news across corporates, finance, government and economy, sending out real-time headlines and stories that capture the most important developments. The successful candidate will have regional responsibilities and work alongside teams across the region.We’ll trust you to:
- Demonstrate exceptional news judgement
- Be a collaborative reporter
- Write clear spot news stories and send out real-time headlines
- Work effectively to organize daily news flows
- Demonstrate deep interest in regional companies, economies, stock markets and finance
- Unearth news from traditional and new-media sources
- Stay on top of major news stories and trends
- Collaborate with Bloomberg reporters and editors across EMEA and the world
You’ll need to have:
- A bachelor’s degree
- Proven writing skills
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Ability to understand complex financial statements in Arabic and turn them into short, concise stories that cut through jargon
- Flexibility with work hours and assignments
