internBloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.

We are seeking an energetic journalist with sharp news judgement, strong storytelling abilities and outstanding communication skills to take over as our Helsinki bureau chief.

You’ll dig into the Finnish central bank and its role setting European Central Bank monetary policy, dive into how more than half of NATO’s eastern border is defended and set the agenda on coverage of Nokia, Nordea and other corporates — all the while working with colleagues across the region on daily news.

Your nose for news and ability to relay the narrative of Finland to a global audience, in print and other media formats, will further elevate the Bloomberg brand in Helsinki and across the Nordics.

If this sounds like you, please apply!

We’ll trust you to:

  • Demonstrate outstanding news judgement
  • Chase scoops
  • Execute clear and comprehensive narrative stories
  • Work effectively to manage daily news flow and ensure seamless coverage of Finland
  • Attract top newsmakers for interviews

You will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience working in business or political journalism and in a real-time news environment
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to direct coverage
  • Fluency in English and Finnish

We’d love to see:

  • Interest and skills for story telling
  • Ability to maintain and develop top-level sources
