Bloomberg is looking for a reporter to join our team and track the big changes that are afoot in the way Americans eat and how companies are adapting.
The role is a part of the Consumer team at Bloomberg News, which covers some of the most influential brands in the world, from Walmart and McDonald’s to Pepsi and Nike. How these brands perform and their strategic decisions tell us a lot about what’s going on with the economy and the state of the US consumer. How will Pepsi continue to market and sell soda and chips to a consumer that is more health-conscious than ever before? How will the big cereal makers reformulate their recipes to adhere to new food dye bans and the changing forces in Washington? How will the biggest chocolate makers, like Hershey, navigate an increasingly warming climate that is driving up the cost of cocoa? And how will Kraft Heinz win over customers who are trading down to cheaper private-label brands?
You’ll tell the biggest stories about food while dominating coverage on the industry and the issues that shape what we eat. You must be able to confidently break news on the biggest brands and products in grocery stores, write quickly on deadline and conceive and report impactful enterprise stories, video and podcasts.
This role can be based in New York or Chicago. To apply, please submit your resume along with at least three examples of your work by Friday, April 4, 2025.
