Bloomberg seeks a digital managing editor in London

Bloomberg Digital is looking for a Managing Editor to oversee the EMEA region. The successful candidate will have exceptional news judgment and planning skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high pressure environment as they lead a team of talented digital editors across EMEA.

You will need to have a deep understanding of the interests of Bloomberg.com subscribers and an appetite to advocate for stories and video that will help grow our reach and engagement online. The job requires someone who is excellent at building relationships with key partners across the newsroom to help shape coverage in collaboration with the news desk, video, audio and events teams.

The ideal candidate will understand both what our global digital audience of business decision makers is looking for as well as ways to be more successful regionally – whether it’s supporting our UK-focused site, spotting regional market opportunities in Africa and the Middle East or building up content in key local language markets.

We’ll trust you to:

  •   Be a thoughtful leader and communicate effectively with your team
  •   Work seamlessly with reporters and editors to prioritize and coordinate coverage
  •   Represent the Digital agenda and audience in newsroom cross platform discussions
  •   Set the highest standards for promoting editorial content
  •   Oversee our global network of homepages during EMEA hours
  •   Think creatively about story formats, presentation, and promotion
  •   Help contribute and evangelize our digital strategy in the region, working closely with cross functional leaders on both the editorial and business sides.

You’ll need to have:

  •   5+ years of experience in business journalism
  •   Sharp news judgment
  •   Strong knowledge and interest in audience trends and the competitor landscape
  •   A love for analytics with the ability to translate them into actionable takeaways for the newsroom
