BizTimes Milwaukee

Are you a journalist who wants to cover complex topics? Are you a curious person who sees a construction site and wonder what is being built? Do hear about news and your mind starts thinking about follow-up questions?

BizTimes Media is seeking a reporter to cover nonprofits, education and health care. We cover southeastern Wisconsin, helping the region’s business leaders, our readers, better understand issues facing our community while shining a light on work being done to make this a better place to live and work.

In an era where the media landscape is full of uncertainty, this is an opportunity to join a growing family and locally owned media company with a 30-year track record of covering our region. You’ll work side-by-side with our owners and a team of award-winning journalists to break news and help readers understand important issues through our magazine, BizTimes Milwaukee, and online at BizTimes.com.

Why Work with us:

  • Collaborative culture: Work in a supportive and collaborative environment where your ideas are valued and your contributions make a real impact
  • Access to industry leaders: You will cover and build a network with leaders in Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin’s business community.
  • Recognition and Impact: Your work will be seen by a wide audience, making a meaningful difference in the region.

The salary range for this position is $40,000 to $50,000 and is negotiable based on experience. You do not need to have previously covered nonprofits, education or health care, but familiarity with southeastern Wisconsin will help. You should also have a track record of published journalism.

Interested? Send your resume, links to your past coverage and a brief description of you as a journalist (Keep it short, but some things you might include: What kind of stories do you like? How do you find sources? Where do you get your news? What stories would you want to tackle on these beats?) to BizTimes editor Andrew Weiland at andrew.weiland@biztimes.com.
