As a pivotal member of our Business Report team, you’ll dive into the heart of news creation, crafting compelling business and community stories across various platforms. Your role includes:

Innovative Content Creation: You’ll be the architect of original, engaging content for Baton Rouge Business Report monthly magazine and multiple special editions, businessreport.com, and our popular twice daily Daily Report e-newsletter. Your creativity will also flourish in multimedia projects and across our active social media channels.

Collaborative Journalism: Team up with our broader editorial team across multiple brands―including 225, inRegister and 10/12 Industry Report―to redefine our print and online news landscape. Your input will be crucial in maintaining our status as the go-to source for business and critical community topics in the Capital Region market.

Strategic Storytelling: Regular collaboration with our Executive Editor and Assistant/Managing Editor will empower you to craft groundbreaking enterprise stories. Your content, always first and analytical, will engage and provide our digital and print audience with deeper insights into key issues.

Community Connection: Expand your journalistic reach by building a strong network of sources. Engage actively in the community to bring untold stories to light.

What you bring:

A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in journalism or a related field.

  • A proven track record in newsgathering and writing in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • A strong commitment to accuracy and adhering to the highest ethical standards of journalism.

  • A collaborative spirit, driven by the pursuit of excellence and a passion for impactful journalism.
