Focusing on either the investment or the regulation & industry issues beats, the successful candidate will be able to to deliver breaking news, obtain exclusives, work on investigative articles and marshal data to produce top-quality stories. Put simply, they will have the knack for knowing what makes a good story. A willingness to contribute to our range of editorial podcasts, live blogs, videos/webinars and events would also be welcome.
Key Responsibilities
Write daily news stories for FTAdviser.com as well as dedicating time to longer, more in-depth pieces
Develop story ideas from a variety of sources including industry sources, regulatory filings, investment datasets, and so on
Have the judgment to report the real story rather than the angle a specific source is pushing
Write articles that are accurate and balanced, with the appropriate context and depth
Use data, and data visualisation tools, to improve the way we tell our stories.
Required Skills / Experience
News reporting experience, ideally relating to the world of retail investment
Good knowledge of the UK financial advice sector
NCTJ qualified
Proven ability to write clearly and accurately and to meet multiple daily deadlines
Personable, adaptable, and a quick learner.
