FT seeks a digital production journalist, Investor’s Chronicle (London)

The Role / Position Overview:

Investors Chronicle, the investment magazine and website, is seeking a junior digital

production journalist. This is a key role in the Investors’ Chronicle’s production team, working with the digital production editor to maintain and enhance the quality of our digital first publishing output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain the smooth flow of copy through our digital workflow, using our
  • Content Management System to edit, proof and enhance copy submitted by our team of writers.
  • Upload content submitted by external contributors to the CMS
  • Work with the digital production editor to ensure content is optimised for digital publishing by sourcing and adding photos, charts and other digital assets
  • Work with the audience engagement editor to create and send out newsletters on a daily basis
  • Regularly promote stories via social media using Socialflow
  • Create charts and other interactive graphics for use in stories using Flourish
  • Record and edit podcasts and videos and prepare them for publication
  • Ensure SEO best practice is being followed across all our digital content.

Required Skills / Experience:

Essential

  • Experience of sub editing and editing content for digital publication
  • Experience of creating and publishing multimedia content such as videos and podcasts
  • Experience of using a Content Management System and working in a digital first publishing environment
  • Experience of social media platforms and best practice across each one

Desirable

  • Experience of creating newsletters
  • Knowledge of equity markets and an understanding of the world of investment.
