FT Alphaville seeks writer

The Financial Times has a vacancy for an Alphaville Reporter in conjunction with the brand’s relaunch as a paywalled product. The position will ideally be based out of London, but other locations are negotiable.

We are looking for a natural writer with a deep interest in all things financial, markets and economic.

The role will offer opportunities in video reporting, as well as the chance to organize and engage in financial-community oriented events. We are also seeking to carve out new ways of telling stories online, especially across social media platforms.

Key skills:

  • Enthusiasm for digital journalism and/or blogging is essential

  • Natural flare for unearthing important new trends in opaque corners of the financial, technological and corporate world.

  • Good grasp of how social media works

  • Keen to develop their online journalistic profiles

  • Excellent editing skills

  • Engage with our audience through social media

Who we are looking for

All in all, you’ll have a good sense of humor, a critical mind, thick skin and might even know how to manipulate a spreadsheet or fix a line or two of HTML.
