The travel editor of USA Today is looking for pitches: I am always looking for travel pitches from writers who are part of underrepresented groups (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disabled, chronic illness, etc.).

USA TODAY aims to reflect the pulse of the nation with original, on-the-ground reporting centered on diverse perspectives. Its newsroom of journalists is dedicated to bringing clarity to the news of the day by inspiring conversation and reflection.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • $300 for up to 600 words ($.50/word).
