The Christian Century is looking for writers

The Christian Century is looking for short, first-person essays inspired by the word FIELD (due April 1, 2022) for our Readers Write series. The Century invites readers to submit first-person narratives (under 1,000 words) on this topic: FIELD.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Christian Century is a progressive, ecumenical magazine based in Chicago. Committed to thinking critically and living faithfully, the Century explores what it means to believe and live out the Christian faith in our time. The Century seeks to articulate the public meaning of faith, bringing the resources of religious tradition to bear on such topics as poverty, human rights, economic justice, international relations, national priorities, and popular culture.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

• Write a short introduction about yourself
• Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
• Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

• $100 and a free one-year subscription to the magazine.
