Financial Edge is looking for a personal tax writer

We’re looking for witty, succinct writers to write evergreen and timely articles about personal taxes. Ideally, you’ll have the bandwidth to write between three and five 800-word, SEO-optimized articles per month, but like Elastigirl, we’re flexible.

Financial Edge specializes in developing the technical skills of finance professionals through a combination of classroom training and elearning products. Chosen by the world’s top 4 investment banks to deliver their analyst training, last summer alone we taught over 7,000 participants across 4 continents.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re launching a new venture that speaks to ambitious professionals not about the money they manage but the cash in their pockets. From helping you choose the best brokerage platform to explaining carried interest in a way that doesn’t make you yawn, HowtoInvest is your trusted source for help making astute financial decisions and enjoying your wealth.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience as a US-based tax writer or practitioner. CPA or EA designation a big plus. A CFP with tax-planning experience is also great.
  • Experience writing with SEO best practices. A pledge to learn from us about SEO will also do.
  • A penchant for keeping a finger on the pulse and knowing what’s hot and what’s not among our target audience.
  • Excellent written English skills with exemplary attention to detail.
  • An ability to work autonomously and under tight deadlines.
  • No ego when it comes to feedback. We all need editors, even this writer.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • $250 to $350 per 800-1,000-word story, depending on experience and story complexity. We’re looking for writers with capacity to write between 1 and 4 stories per month.
