Fox Business Network seeks a producer/assignment editor.

Primary responsibility is to run the Fox Business News-Washington, D.C. Bureau Assignment Desk operation. This person will direct DC-based reporters, producers and camera crews to carry out the daily newsgathering of Fox’s business news channel, and will be responsible for gathering, researching and coordinating all future events for Capitol Hill, the White House, the SEC, Federal Reserve, and other venues in the Washington, DC area.

This position will work closely with Fox’s business news headquarters in New York, and with the Fox News assignment desk operations in Washington and NY, to coordinate resources as appropriate. Also will need to act as producer. As a newsgathering producer you will be responsible for gathering editorial information and video material and preparing it for use on the air in live shots, packages and other forms.

You will cover events in the DC area and occasionally elsewhere around the country and the world; you will attend and/or log briefings, hearings, and news conferences; and conduct interviews of newsmakers, both over the phone and on air.

You will select video and sound bites and oversee editing, and will also be responsible for all other duties associated with the logistics of the above tasks, such as arranging travel, hiring crews, studios, and/or means of transmission, as necessary. Successful applicants will have solid news judgment, a good understanding of business news, and a demonstrated ability to gather news in the nation’s capital.

·Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years assignment desk and or planning desk experience
·Good editorial judgment as well as strong logistical skills
·Knowledge of national politics and the DC area, as well as an understanding of business
·The ability to work well in a fast paced and intense atmosphere
·Familiar with iNews.
·Flexibility to work various shifts when needed
·Motivated self-starter who is able to work independently and in a team environment
·Ability to multi-task and prioritize
·Knowledge of fiber connectivity for the Washington, DC area a plus.
