Fortune seeks Most Powerful Women reporter

Fortune is looking for an intrepid, digitally-savvy reporter with a passion for women in business to write for the Most Powerful Women channel on Fortune.com and help produce The Broadsheet, our daily newsletter about women in business. 

This is a key role for an energetic reporter who wants to dig into creating meaningful, transformative content for a rapidly growing franchise.

You will:

  • Write daily stories for the Most Powerful Women channel on Fortune.com – both quick-hit stories and longer, more in-depth pieces
  • Help write and promote The Broadsheet, Fortune’s daily newsletter on women and business. Requires keeping a keen eye on the headlines, using news judgment to select the best stories, and a lively, conversational writing style
  • Promote The Broadsheet on social media. Look for new ways to grow and engage the newsletter readership, online and in-person
  • Think creatively about content, telling stories not just with text, but with galleries, infographics or video
  • Manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Highlight experiences occurring at premiere Most Power Women conferences
  • Edit other MPW contributors’ stories as needed

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
