Fortune Media is hiring an experienced video producer with demonstrated success in building and growing a YouTube audience.

Looking for a natural born storyteller with extensive experience in creating YouTube programming and a strong understanding of how the many facets of the platform work. Being able to analyze and respond to YouTube analytics is key. This position requires field, studio, and post-production experience. The role would require a self-starter attitude, a desire to find robust business stories that can translate to the screen as YouTube series, short news packages, or longer form feature content. The ability to find and collaborate with others is also a must. You might be hiring crews for field shoots, ideating with senior video leadership, working with editors and animators to bring those shoots to life, or shooting and editing pieces yourself.

Fortune has a booming events business, putting on over 10 conferences a year domestically and internationally, that you would have the opportunity to travel to and produce shoots. These conferences host high level executives from all over the business landscape. Experience in working with that caliber of guest is a must.

You will also have the opportunity to help develop video projects related to our tentpole franchises like the Fortune 500 and Most Powerful Women.

Time requirement: 6 to 8 years of video journalism experience, with an emphasis on YouTube.

Skills required:

  • YouTube programming experience. Understanding of platform analytics and what makes a great YT video.
  • Knowledge of cameras and lighting.
  • Post-production experience with the Adobe suite – most specifically with Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Good to have: experience in ingesting and arching material to a media asset management system like Xchange.
  • Ability to research and conduct interviews.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and contractors to create video projects with a consistent style that works with the Fortune brand.
  • Willingness to switch gears at the drop of a hat, and jump into a project, no matter how big or small.
  • Must live in the New York City area. Fortune is a hybrid workplace, but you may be called to come into the office for meetings and studio
