Fortune is seeking a seasoned, enterprising journalist to join the newsroom as a reporter, covering the most important leadership trends shaping corporate America and the global business landscape.

This reporter will uncover the evolving forces driving executive decision-making, strategy, innovation, and corporate culture—delivering essential insights to Fortune’s influential readership of business leaders, and profiling the titans and disrupters that drive the global conversation

You will:

  • Lead coverage of business and corporate leadership, focusing on executive strategy, company performance, and market-defining trends
  • Report and write a mix of breaking news, analysis pieces, profiles, and deeply reported enterprise stories on deadline
  • Identify and explain broader trends within the C-suite and across industries, connecting them to the shifting business and economic environment
  • Use data and financial reporting tools to identify emerging stories and craft compelling, evidence-driven journalism
  • Participate in Fortune events and panels, including discussions on corporate strategy, governance, innovation, leadership challenges, and market disruption
  • Collaborate with Fortune’s video and digital teams for multimedia storytelling, including on-camera interviews and live discussions

The right candidate:

  • Has significant experience covering corporate America or global business, with a journalistic track record of breaking stories and delivering sharp analysis
  • Brings deep knowledge of how companies operate—strategically, financially, and politically—and an ability to turn complex developments into engaging narratives
  • Is a creative and self-directed reporter who can shape coverage priorities and develop high-impact story ideas independently
  • Has a strong network of business sources including executives, analysts, investors, and policymakers
  • Displays strong editorial judgment, clarity in writing, and an eye for contextualizing daily business news within larger trends
  • Understands what makes Fortune unique and is committed to delivering must-read journalism that drives the conversation in corporate circles
