Fortune is hiring a chief strategic partnerships editor to work on some of our most important franchises and journalism initiatives.
This is a leadership position that reports to Fortune’s Editor in Chief.
As chief strategic partnerships editor, you will straddle Fortune’s editorial and business departments, working with each to create packages that Fortune’s readers and clients both love.
This role works across all editorial platforms including digital, video, magazine, audio, virtual and live events.
You will:
- Serve as a bridge between commercial interests and editorial leadership, answering ongoing questions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth communication between both teams.
- Work with sales, marketing, conferences and editorial teams to collaborate on big, sponsorable ideas.
- Create new storytelling formats that have potential to drive sponsorship and present them to clients on behalf of edit.
- Manage a team to help execute sold campaigns.
- Develop responses to multi-million-dollar RFPs that can achieve an advertiser’s goals while also funding ambitious journalism initiatives.
- Oversee the execution of some of Fortune’s most storied franchises and brainstorm relevant brand extensions
- Manage costs to ensure delivery of content packages, on time and under budget, and to hit and exceed revenue goals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have prior newsroom leadership and management experience
- Feel comfortable speaking with advertisers about journalism initiatives and business topics
- Have big ideas on ways to create high-impact journalism packages for large budgets and on a global scale
- Be creative, entrepreneurial and collaborative
Fortune’s headquarters is in NYC, but our editorial team is based across time zones and international borders. We’re working remotely due to the pandemic. We encourage applicants between the coasts to apply.
