Forbes seeks visual storytelling editor

Forbes is looking for a Visual Storytelling Editor to join its Mobile team, helping mold our editorial content into its most compelling form.

The ideal candidate can work with our staff and writers to re-imagine the traditional 800-word article form and tell the same story in a highly shareable and engaging way. S/he will also be able to create robust data visualizations in Forbes’ editorial voice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge to create eye-catching data visualizations and interactive elements that enhance Forbes.com articles
  • Optimize online content to be concise, visual and engaging for mobile readers
  • Restructure Web stories and publish with our CMS
  • Collaborate with Forbes editors and producers for new approaches to creative storytelling
  • Work with our social media team to provide assets as needed

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
