Forbes seeks producer for opinions section

Forbes Media seeks an associate content producer to support the Opinions channel of Forbes.com.

Producers are the lynchpin of the Forbes newsroom. They work at the intersection of editorial (senior producers, staff writers, editors and outside contributors) and internal teams within Forbes: audience development, social, sales optimization, product and development, to effectively promote and position our content to Forbes audience.

Responsibilities include:

    • Work on front lines of channel and section pages. Read and edit (as appropriate) content on the channel and site and fix issues when discovered.
    • Train and support staff writers and outside contributors on how to use and optimize Forbes publishing tools.
    • Facilitate communication between Forbes editors and contributors. Work closely with staff reporters and writers.
    • Work with audience development to monitor traffic trends and help staffers and contributors to capitalize on it.
    • Update channel and section pages to keep them fresh and interesting. Update home page and special sections when required.
    • Find and recruit contributors at the direction of editors.
    • Monitor news and alert staff and contributors to aid their coverage ability.
    • Create photo galleries for stories and special reports/landers.
    • Build topic packages/landers and special sections on the fly to best showcase and exploit our work for the web site.
