Forbes Media seeks a Content Producer to support the health care channel of Forbes.com.
This person will work with the Senior Editor for health care and pharma to recruit and manage a network of freelance contributors who write on a variety of health care topics, in addition to providing assistance on long-term projects like the creation of Forbes’ 30 under 30 List and helping to organize Forbes’ annual Healthcare Summit. The job will also provide opportunities for writing and reporting on health care topics under the guidance of an experienced health care reporter.
Responsibilities include:
- Read and edit (as appropriate) content on the channel and site and fix issues when discovered.
- Monitor news and alert staff and contributors to aid their coverage.
- Train and support outside contributors on how to use and optimize Forbes publishing tools.
- Write and post Healthcare-related stories on Forbes.com
- Find and recruit contributors at the direction of editors
- Facilitate communication between Forbes editors and contributors.
- Work with audience development to monitor traffic trends and help staffers and contributors to capitalize on it.
- Update channel and section pages to keep them fresh and interesting. Update home page and special sections when required.
- Create photo galleries for stories and special reports/landers.
- Create photo galleries for stories and special reports/landers
- Collaborate with social team to highlight and showcase the work of contributors and staff.
- Fact-check for Forbes Magazine
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least one year of relevant work or internship experience in journalism, science, health or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with publishing platforms (WordPress, etc.)
- Strong interest in healthcare, science, pharma, and/or biology
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently when required while at the same time operate efficiently in a team dynamic
- Strong oral and written communication skills and a keen eye for detail
