  • Participate in the editing process for both print and digital
  • Serve the information needs of Florida Trend readers in print, digital and social media channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

>> Collaborate with Florida Trend’s digital team to extend the reach of the magazine’s written and visual journalism through daily and weekly newsletters and social media channels.

>> Discuss the approach to stories — before writing — with the executive editor and managing editor. Provide contact information for art assignments to the art director in advance of the deadline.

>> Deliver stories and their relevant components — including headlines and subheds for mainbar, sidebars and boxes — by the monthly deadline (with reasonable allowance for the availability of sources and other unforeseen difficulties).

>> Participate in the final editing process, including reading the complete magazine in “blueline” form; identify misspellings and other errors and suggest any last-minute changes that may be appropriate.

>> Continually evaluate the magazine’s look and content and suggest any changes that will improve it.

>> Participate collegially in staff activities. Communicate with other staff members independent of organized meetings.
