Florida paper seeks business reporter

The Villages Daily Sun, America’s fastest-growing daily newspaper, is seeking a business reporter with a proven passion for community journalism.

We prefer candidates with a year or two of newsroom experience, however we have a strong track record of helping entry-level journalists take their work from good to great.

We believe in the future of print and are defying national trends of declining circulation numbers and downsizing staff. Our success lies in our uncompromising commitment to community journalism, and we’re looking for journalists who share that passion.

The Daily Sun is part of a media group that also produces a daily TV news show, operates a radio station and publishes a monthly magazine — to which our reporters regularly contribute.

We’re a 90-mile drive to the beach, the theme parks and the historic neighborhoods of Gainesville and St. Augustine. Our employees also have access to a highly regarded workplace charter school system in one of the state’s most idyllic settings.

Apply by sending your resume and six strongest writing clips to the attention of Associate Editor Matthew Fry at matthew.fry@thevillagesmedia.com. And then fill out the online application for the position at www.compassinthevillages.com
