Marc Waring Ventures, the company behind the small business resource website FitSmallBusiness.com, is seeking an insurance writer to join our editorial team.
Recently named to the Inc. 500 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies, FitSmallBusiness.com is read by over 1.5 million small business owners and managers each month. We are a fast growing NYC-based startup, with headquarters across the street from Grand Central. This position is open to remote work.
The Position
The Insurance Writer will be an integral part of building the most comprehensive small business insurance portal on the internet. We cover a wide range of topics related to small business insurance, from Small Business Owner Policies to industry-specific insurance needs to key person insurance.
The best candidates will be strong writers with an extensive understanding of small business insurance. You should also have a great network of sources from around the insurance and small business worlds. Most importantly, you are passionate about writing and want to share your knowledge in written form to teach our eager readership how to make their small businesses succeed.
This position includes:
- Writing comparison articles of insurance carriers, brokers, and agents.
- Researching (including interviewing experts) and writing articles about insurance areas, such as state workers compensation insurance.
- Providing detailed responses to reader questions.
- Developing infographics and visuals to support written content.
- Build online tools like calculators and document templates.
Qualifications for success:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- You are a great researcher and writer.
- You are high energy, and passionate about helping small businesses.
- You are comfortable working in a startup environment, where things change quickly.
- You have a strong work ethic.
