Fitch Ratings seeks managing editor

The managing editor of Fitch Rtaings serves as a leader and primary contact person in Chicago Publishing, managing publication of Fitch Research for Corporate Finance, Public Power, Global Infrastructure & Project Finance, and Latin America groups.

Principal Responsibilities:
· Manages daily flow of Research and related materials in Chicago office.
· Manages staff of 12 publishing professionals, including evaluation and all other relevant personnel areas
· Works closely with analysts and Publishing staff to ensure high-quality research.
· Communicates within Publishing and throughout Fitch to ensure that publishing mission is well understood among all staff.
· Coordinates development of new research products with Publishing team and analytical groups.
· Helps develop and maintain Fitch publishing procedures and style guide.
· Trains newly hired editors and production staff.
· Edits Fitch research for grammar, content, and style during periods of heavy volume.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
