El Dorado News-Times seeks a regional managing editor

The El Dorado News-Times seeks a regional managing editor to oversee daily newspaper operations in El Dorado and at our weekly Camden and Magnolia newspapers. We seek an experienced editor comfortable managing print and digital publications.

This hands-on position will guide our staff of reporters through the process of putting together a world-class print and digital publication. This includes writing and editing stories.

We are looking for a candidate to become a part of our community, build relationships, teach, mentor, and lead our staff of reporters through producing quality community journalism. The successful candidate will be able to coordinate editorial publications and meetings, plan and approve assignments, control schedules, and enforce deadlines.

Critical to our success is providing a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, accountability, and respect for all internal and external customers. A journalism degree or equivalent experience in a community newsroom is required. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule. This is a safety-sensitive position.
