E&E News seeks a legal reporter

E&E News is hiring a legal reporter who can take a creative approach to covering the growing field of climate law. The ideal candidate is a talented writer who can compose clear and compelling stories about complex legal issues without relying on jargon. You should be highly organized and able to juggle breaking news and enterprise stories on high-profile courtroom battles. Be ready to travel; we expect this reporter to know the people and places they write about.

Responsibilities: The right candidate can handle quick turnaround pieces on arguments and motions in courtrooms across the country while also working on big-picture stories that identify trends in the burgeoning field of climate law. You will be responsible for tracking judicial nominations and are expected to dive into PACER and emerge with compelling story ideas. Your job is to explain what’s happening inside and outside the courtroom in a way that will resonate with all readers, not just lawyers.

The reporter will be on the legal team and contribute to Climatewire and other publications at E&E News.
