E&E News is looking for a sharp-eyed copy editor to work evenings as part of our fast-paced newsroom. The ideal candidate will have professional experience copy editing and web producing for a news organization. You’ll work with copy editors; the art desk; reporters located across the U.S.; and the editors of E&E News PM, E&E Daily, Climatewire and Energywire. You’ll double-check headlines, hone daily stories and features, place photos and graphics, and organize emails that will hit subscribers’ inboxes the next morning. You will have a strong command of grammar and AP style and an interest for the policy and politics that surrounds energy and environmental issues. Working from a remote location is OK.

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of copy-editing experience.
  • B.A/B.S or equivalent.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) is a big plus.
  • Familiarity in our issues and publications is also a plus.
  • Collegial spirit and joy in working an old-fashioned, afternoon-to-evening newspaper shift Sunday through Thursday.

We are driven by our values. We are relentless contributors, disruptors, collaborators, and talent cultivators. Our culture is defined by grit, total integrity, and a prioritization on innovation.
