The Contract Content Writer, ELA K-5 is a full-time contract position responsible for the writing and developmental editing of ELA K-5 content for Edmentum’s Exact Path product. This role will write original content, including direct instruction and modeling, original texts, and practice items for Exact Path. Additionally, this role collaborates with artists, producers, assessment designers, and other content designers within the writing and revision cycle.

The Contract Content Writer, ELA K-5 is responsible for implementing Edmentum’s development tools and processes to create original content. This position will write and developmentally edit content, utilize project tracking software, attend weekly stand-ups, and collaborate to deliver animated learning modules for the primary grades.

Scope of Services – Contract Content Writer, ELA K-5 will provide the following services and deliverables to the Company:

  • Write and revise content for Edmentum’s programs based on pedagogical understanding, subject matter expertise, and project needs.
  • Closely adhere to prototypes, guidelines, scope & sequence rigor, and quality processes, and occasionally participate in the development of these items as assigned.
  • Use Edmentum’s development tools and processes to create high-quality content delivered on time.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and be open to feedback and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with Global Creative department by reviewing layouts, images, animations, other types of media, and text typography against standards for excellence in visual-verbal learning.
  • Understand and interpret academic standards to create standards-aligned material and evaluate the rigor of Edmentum’s curricular assets.
  • Follow common writing and copyediting conventions that reflect Edmentum style.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Term: Anticipated to begin May 1, 2022 through January 30, 2023 at which time the agreement can be renewed.



  • $50 per hour. This position is targeted to work no more than 40 hours per week.
