Dow Jones seeks research editor, AME English and Korean

Research editor, Dow Jones Adverse Media – Entities, Risk and Compliance, will be researching, recording and updating details on companies with adverse media in countries around the world.

These details are required for the Dow Jones Risk and Compliance Adverse Media – Entities (AME) database, a global reference database of companies that have had negative news in the media.

You will be required to use a range of relevant electronic published sources for each country in researching, including a range of sources carried on Dow Jones’s own products and on government/regulatory and company websites.

In extracting data, you must also adhere to a set of guidelines on Adverse Media selection and the level of corporate details required. You are also responsible for verifying the accuracy of the material that you and other team members are adding to the database and must follow an established set of procedures to do so.

You will also be keeping the AME Database up to date by continual scanning and extraction from known information sources and by ongoing monitoring for new sources.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to identify wholly with Dow Jones’s service obligations to its clients
  • Research and/or editorial knowledge
  • Fluency in English and Korean is required; proficiency in other languages is a plus
  • Web searching skills; tenacity and ingenuity in the pursuit of sources
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent proofreading skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to accept feedback as a learning opportunity and ability to build and maintain good working relationships
