Dow Jones seeks reporter in Hong Kong

Dow Jones Newswires is now seeking a highicaliber candidate to fill the following vacancy in Hong Kong: Reporter, Real Time General/Business News Desk

The successful candidates will monitor and file corporate disclosure news items covering several Asian-Pacific equities markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, during Asia pre-market and trading hours.

This would include sending flashes, quick fills, and Market Talk items for Dow Jones Newswires, as well as further updates for the wires and wsj.com as needed. The reporters should cover companies that are important to the relevant markets, and the decision on storifying disclosures is made in consultation with the news editor or sector editors.

The reporters will also be expected to break news on companies in those markets. They will therefore need to develop sources and meet contacts when they are not monitoring the disclosure feeds.

They will also need to step in to help with other Newswires and WSJ coverage as necessary, particularly during periods of major breaking stories.
