dot.LA seeks editor-in-chief

dot.LA is seeking an editor-in-chief for the newsroom who will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and executing on news coverage: breaking, features, and special projects
  • Overseeing the story production and editing processes
  • Acting as the ultimate arbiter of published content, and owning the praise and criticism thereof
  • Recruiting and developing reporters and editors
  • Achieving both quantitative and qualitative performance benchmarks
  • Interfacing with the non-journalistic elements of the organization to promote cooperation and coordination

To apply, candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in digital media, preferably covering tech
  • 5+ years of experience managing journalists
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
