Call for pitches: Nature, geology, flora, fauna, glaciers, fossils! I’ve just taken over Discover Magazine’s Planet Earth column, which means I’m in need of your ~1200-word stories exploring any topic from “the field.”

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Discover delivers entertaining, relevant, and thought-provoking science content that feeds the mind and fuels the imagination. The magazine is aimed at the general public, covering topics ranging from global warming and black holes to Neanderthals and robots.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.

COMPENSATION

  • For print, pay starts at $1/word.
