Dealbook seeks a reporter in New York

DealBook, The New York Times’s business news platform for C-level decision-makers, policy officials and everyone who intersects with them, is looking for a seasoned reporter in New York.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious and enthusiastic self-starter with a history of breaking important business news. This reporter should be able to write well and fast, and have a lengthy and up-to-date contact list of business and policy sources.

Creativity and curiosity required, and an interest in experimenting with alternative forms of storytelling also welcomed.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
